During the next 7, 8 and 9 May 2020, the Transnational Meeting of the Erasmus + BRIDGES project (“Building Inclusive Societies: Diversifying Knowledge and Tackling Discrimination through Civil Society Participation in Universities”) will take place. Originally, this meeting was to be held in the city of Giessen (Germany) but due to the Coronavirus pandemic and forced confinement throughout Europe, it will be held online. We remind that the BRIDGES project is financed by the Erasmus + program and its objective is to tackle discrimination and promote social inclusion in Higher Education by establishing and strengthening relationships with civil society groups.
In the Transnational Meeting, the eight partner entities participating in the project will meet, which include: from Spain, the research group FIC (Fractalities in Critical Research), of the Department of Social Psychology of the UAB, and project coordinators; and the Sindillar union (Union of home and care workers); from Greece, FACR (Feminist Autonomous Center for Research) and the NGO Za’atar; from the United Kingdom, the University of Brighton and the Office of Displaced Designers organization; and from Germany, the NGO An.Ge.Kommen and the University of Giessen, who organize and take responsibility for this activity.
During the days of the online meeting, different methodologies will be combined to work collaboratively between all the partners in order to apply the decolonial feminist theoretical perspectives to the revision of the “Tool-Kit”, which will contain a series of resources, materials and useful exercises to promote a more inclusive university. The public presentation of the Tool-Kit, which was scheduled for July 2020 in Athens, coinciding with the Feminist Summer School organized by FACR, has been postponed until a new date due to Covid-19. However, the Tool-Kit will be available through the “Virtual Lab” in the near future, as soon as the latter is finished.
Meanwhile, we invite you to follow the news of the BRIDGES project through the subscription to its quarterly Newsletter and social networks.
