Manifesto for March 8th of the Union of Domestic and Care Workers Sindillar / Sindihogar

On March 8th, the colleagues of the Union of Domestic and Care Workers Sindillar / Sindihogar launched a manifesto in which they denounce their working conditions, injustices, violence and discrimination that they live as a group, and where they also demand human, social, economic and labor rights that are being systematically denied. In this manifesto they demand the total and immediate integration of domestic and care workers in the General Social Security Scheme, so that all their rights as workers be definitely recognized: unemployment benefit, real wage contributions, elimination of dismissal due to withdrawal of the employer and update of their salaries and contributions. The State and families are also required to respect workers’ daily and weekly breaks, annual vacations and the salary that actually corresponds to the worked hours and the hours of presence, regardless of the administrative situation. In addition, they reclaim the inclusion in the Law on Prevention of Occupational Risks under equal conditions of all workers. Enough of exploitation!

“We have crossed seas in search of a better life and fleeing from the misery that colonial plunder has caused in our land of origin. We are brave, restless and collective women, who contribute and enrich the social fabric from our knowledge and experiences. Our fight is feminist, anti-racist and anti-capitalist. And our South points to a different and better world, where all of us have the real possibility of living a dignified life. We will not rest until we achieve it! ”, They express at the end of their manifesto.
